Recording videos and action-cam footage
Last updated: 2026-04-22
Video is one of the most valuable things TRUST+ Pro captures. A clear recording of the problem, the work, and the final result protects both you and your customer — and gives your office everything they need to follow up.
Recording with your iPhone camera
You can record video directly from within a visit:
- Open the project and navigate to the current visit.
- Tap the camera icon to open the capture screen.
- Switch to video mode and tap the record button to start.
- Tap again to stop.
The video is saved to the visit immediately. You can record multiple videos in a single visit.
Video types
When you record a video, you may be prompted to label it with a type — for example, Pre-Service Review or Customer Statement. Labeling videos helps your office quickly find the right footage and makes the documentation more meaningful.
If you record a Customer Statement and one already exists for that visit, the app will ask whether you want to replace it or keep both. Choose whichever is appropriate.
Recording with an action camera
If your company has set up action cameras (such as a GoPro), you can import footage from the camera into a visit.
- Follow your company’s setup process to connect the action camera.
- After recording, open the visit you want to attach the footage to.
- Use the action-cam import option to link the recording to the visit.
Action-cam footage goes through a processing pipeline after it’s synced — this can take a few minutes. During processing, the footage is automatically reviewed for audio content and other details. You’ll see a status indicator while it’s in progress.
Uploading and syncing
Videos are saved locally first and uploaded when you have a connection. Large videos upload in the background — you don’t have to keep the app open.
If an upload fails (for example, if you lose signal mid-upload), the app retries automatically. You can also check the sync status in the app to see if anything is pending.
Tips for good video documentation
- Record in good lighting. Dark videos are hard to review.
- Narrate as you go. Explain what you’re seeing — it saves time for the office and the customer later.
- Keep the camera steady. Even a few seconds of stable footage is more useful than shaky movement.
- Check your footage before leaving the job. It’s much easier to re-record on site than after you’ve left.
